We hope that everyone is doing well!! As usual, we've been so busy, so I'm a little behind on posts. Grayce is now 20 months old!! Here's a quick overview of her life these days, so if you're just here for the pictures, scroll on down!!! :)
She is getting smarter each week, and we're really enjoying this time (outside of the "Im now independant & almost 2" tantrums, and the "no" phase). Its somewhat bittersweet because we are constantly reminded that we no longer have a baby, she's a toddler & pre-school is right around the corner! Right now we have her enrolled in toddler gymnastics. She has a blast - she is definitely in her element climbing and jumping on EVERYTHING! I'll try to take pictures one day but its hard because Im just as involved as she is! It's a lot of fun.
Her talking is out of control - repeating everything we say and asking questions like "mommy go? (where'd mommy go?)" or she'll pull up a chair and say "mommy/daddy sit down." Shes really engaging the people around her. We're getting a lot of the 3 word sentences regularly. She can say her alphabet up to "G," and we're also working on colors, shapes and numbers. We've heard her count to 13...but most times she'll get close to or at 10 then jumble the rest. She loves to count when she's climbing up steps. Most the time when you ask her what color something is, the response you'll get is "pink." It used to be "purple" so at least we're changing it up. :) However, she has been getting better lately - she can find colors correctly and match them correctly (purple key to purple door), but is not consistent on identifying them verbally. Shapes she knows are circle, square, triangle, star, heart, diamond...oval and rectangle are often confused with circles and squares. So, as you can see, we are having a lot of fun LEARNING! :) Its a lot of fun to explain the world to her when she can actually start to comprehend it a little bit more.
Here are some pictures of our 4th of July weekend. We went to a friends house for a 2nd birthday party on Satuday night. The club around the corner from their house had fireworks so we got to see how Grayce would respond to them before the big day. She really got to experience the fireworks this year, where as last year she was only 8 months. She loved them and just kept yelling "fireworks!" "Wow!" or yelling out a random color because thats what mommy was doing :)

On Sunday the 4th, we went to the Folsom Pro Rodeo. It was hot, but thank goodness we were able to get a shady spot!! It was tough keeping Grayce still, so most the time we took turns holding her and walking around with her. We even got the opportunity to ride on a wagon in the arena!

I am in the middle of my summer "break." I get 2 weeks off, even though they make sure to call us in for one reason or another during that time. Like next week, I have a faculty in service on Wednesday and graduation on Friday. But its been really nice to have this past week off. And even better, Tim had it off with me, so its been nice. We just got back from a quick overnight trip to Monterey Bay. We had so much fun. I will be posting pictures of that trip within the next few days so keep an eye out!!Love,
