Living Spontaneously...At 9,156 Feet

Yesterday, Tim decided it was a good idea to finally head up to Tahoe and take Grayce sledding. After scrambling around all day Friday looking for late season snowsuits, our wonderful friend Melissa let us borrow her daughters for the day. It is now my mission to find one on sale because we definitely want to head up there again before the snow melts! Tim did his research & wanted to try the sledding at Adventure Peak at Heavenly. And even more fun - we got to ride the gondola to get to it!

Grayce and Daddy excited to get going up the mountain.

Heavenly has a tubing and sledding park (Adventure Park) for the little ones at the top of gondola ride - 9,156 feet! It was really cold and snowy at the top - but Grayce was a trooper as always. She only had one face plant in the snow, and you can imagine there was crying involved with that one. Imagine the first time you get freezing cold snow all over your face - Im sure its quite shocking. Poor baby. ;( So after getting christened by the snow, we got to sledding. Adults are not allowed to ride the sleds with the kids, so Grayce had to brave it alone. We knew she would be ok once she got used to it. I had Tim start her 1/2 way down to calm my nerves. :)

She wasnt so sure about her first ride!

But by the second run, she was having fun :)

Weeeee!!!!

We had to call it quits after about the 5th or 6th ride because the snow started really coming down & we were worried her fingers and toes we're getting cold. Here's a picture of when she was telling Mommy she was over sledding for the day.

We love our snowbunny :)

Eating a snack & warming up on the way back down the mountain.

Wow check out this view!

Watching the storm blow in

The minute we got her in the car, she was passed out 2 minutes later. A busy day for the lil one.

We were getting out of town just in time. The snow was coming down hard and the chain controls went up. A sigh of relief when 4X4's with all terrain tires could go down without chains!! Yay for Tims new truck!

Heading down in the snow...

Overall, it was a lot of fun, even though it went by in a flash. Next time, Tim and I would love to go snowboarding and skiing. Being up there made us miss it bad! Maybe Grayce can get on skis next year - hahaha! :)
