Today Grayce had her 18th month check up. She's still a tall girl - almost 3 feet (2'9.5"), which is in the 94th%tile. If what they say is true - that you take their 2 year old height and double it to figure her adult height, then we will have a tall girl on our hands! She's always been tall & skinny, but her weight has finally been catching up the past several months - she's now at 24 lbs 14.6oz (60th%tile), which is a big change from the 30th or 40th%tile most her life. We've had a bit of a picky eater on our hands lately but I guess that didnt affect her weight too much. Outside of that, she is healthy and she's doing really well.
Tim's been in Austin for almost 2 weeks, we miss him terribly! But we're happy that he's coming home tomorrow night! Yay! It will be nice to return to our version of normalcy. My hat goes off to all the single working moms out there!! Superstars!! I am BEAT! But thankfully my mom is nearby & my dad has been traveling a lot too so we kept each other company & she's watched Grayce when I work on Tuesday nights. I'm still teaching at Heald College and Im up to 4 classes. Its definitely a juggling act, but I really love what I do and Im glad I got the opportunity to do it.
Ok I have to run - we're approaching nap time and I just asked Grayce if she wanted to take a nap and she immediately said "Yah! Yah! Paci! Paci!!" If anyone has tips on weaning a toddler off a pacifier, let me know! Right now she only gets in during nap and bedtime. Its going to be really hard to take that away. Not only for when she goes down, but I will hear her wake up in the middle of the night searching for her pacifier and she wont fall back asleep until she finds it. She'll start crying after 2 minutes of not finding it & then I'll have to go in there and help her. This is going to be tough!!!
I'll try to post some videos soon. They take a really long time to load and convert so keep an eye out.
xoxo,
Robyn

I can't believe she is 18 months already!
ReplyDeleteHallie was a binky junkie. She only got it during naps and since it made her such a good sleeper I didn't a make an issue of it. When she was around 3 she quit napping and that was then end of the binky. Pretty easy if you don't mind it too much : )
I am a wuss about the binky, Wren still has hers at bedtime and naps. I have been feeling like she would be able to cope if we took it away at this point, so we'll probably try in the next month or so. It's only been recently that it didn't sound like a horrible idea to take it away, though. Maybe give her a couple more months and see where she is?
