The Happiest Place on Earth

Seriously! We had SO much fun at Disneyland, I can't wait to go back. This will go on the list of one of the many reasons I miss living in Orange County. We'd have an annual pass in a heartbeat. Anyway, because of the record torrential downpours Southern California decided to experience the week that we visited, our days to go outside were very limited. So we ended up going on Christmas Eve. We didnt end up staying for the parade, etc, because we had dinner plans, so we cant wait to do that next time!

Disney makes fresh homemade candy canes during Christmas. Apparently you have to be there at 7am, sprint to the candy store and buy tickets as soon as they open just to buy one - they limit the amount sold. So when we got there at 8:15 or so, they were already sold out. We had read about it the night before but we're not that determined this time around - maybe next time. Here is a picture of one of the candy cane makers making a candy cane:
First stop was to visit the Princesses!
We got Grayce her $20 autograph book & pen to give to the princesses once we got in (love how Disney gets ya...)
Entertaining herself during the first of many lines that day
First Princess that she met was Grayce's favorite princess: Ariel! Yay! (I totally cried haha) Of course Ariel talked about how they have the same hair color!
Then she met Bell
And the last princess (of 3) that was there that morning was Mulan. Grayce asked me "who's that?" We havent seen Mulan yet...we might have to invest in the DVD :) See that lovely "castmember" with the camera off to the left? They got some great shots of Grayce with the princesses, but they want $14 for a 4 x 6. No thanks. Way to make those memories accessible to the budgeting family Disney :)
Next was "It's a Small World" The Christmas theme in there was really cool
We hopped over to Toon Town and met Goofy! He was so tall! Look at him compared to Tim who is 6'2"
Riding a car with Daddy at Toon Town
Minnie Mouse
Mickey Mouse
Then we went over to meet Tinkerbell. This was the longest line yet - 45 minutes I believe it took us. Grayce did really well!!
Silvermist
Yay! It's Tinkerbell!
Grayce decided that she had to sit down next to a lot of these characters instead of standing, it was cute. :)
On the tea cups - I didnt know how she would feel about them going in but she LOVED them! Probably one of her favorite rides of the day
We got her Mickey Ears. We wanted to get a picture similar to the one of me in Mickey ears when I was at Disneyland around her age. We have a few pictures, I just have to scan them thru.
Taking a nap during the long line to go on the Finding Nemo ride. What are we going to do once we shake that pacifier? Its such a help when it comes to naps in a pinch!
She loved the Nemo ride too. We have a video that she makes us watch over and over and over again!
Eating her Mickey ice cream :) This was after we went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. She wasnt much of a fan of that one, but its a classic that we never can miss when we go! She did fine though

Such a good sharer :)
The classic shot in front of the castle! Right before we took this picture we were suprised with Mary Poppins, Burt and the band! Mary Poppins is Grayce's favorite Disney movie (go figure!), so we were SOOO excited when she showed up! They played some of Grayce's favorite songs from the movie - like "Steppin Time" & "Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious" :) She danced away, awesome moment!

We of course had to stalk Mary Poppins down and get a picture. She wasnt much for pictures and Tim pretty much begged her and told her that she was Grayce's favorite (yay Tim!). So Mary said "alright, I'll take one with the little ginger girl!" haha

The Christmas tree all lit up. Everyone was lined up for the parade, but we were on our way out - we had dinner plans for Christmas Eve and didnt want to leave my dad and brother alone! :)

On the tram on the way back to the car with her souvenir that she picked out - Winnie the Pooh
Overall it was an AWESOME day!

  1. Oh my gosh - it looks like you hit everything! That is adorable about Mary Poppins - what a funny favorite. I can't get Wren to sit through that one!

We are going back on Thursday and I think we'll have to track down more characters - we only met one last time (Chip) and didn't even get a picture. Lame = me.

  2. Hi Robyn! I just stumbled onto your blog! So cute. Looks like you guys are busy and happy! I love your house. And your Disneyland pictures make me miss it so much. We lived down there for year before we moved out to Texas (so 2 years ago) and we had passes. We went once a week! Love to you all!
