A Day By The American River

On Sunday, we were invited to my mom's friend's 100 acre ranch in Lotus, CA (about 30 minutes north of us). It was such a beautiful place to be on a beautiful day. It is located right on the American River, and as you'll see, many people kayak and raft right past their property. Right before where we were sitting, the rafters go thru level 2 rapids so we heard "wooo!" all day as groups rafted thru them. Most the time, people would jump out into the water for a swim in front of us and then jump back into the rafts. Past where we were, the rafters move on to rougher waters where we were told are level 3+ rapids at "the gorge." Really cool, made me want to go rafting or kayaking!
